Microsoft has integrated its Copilot Vision AI into the Copilot Windows app, currently available in the United States for Windows 10 and 11, with plans for expansion to additional non-European countries. This feature allows users to interact with items on their screens, providing assistance with files, applications, and on-screen content. Users can request analyses, summaries, or guidance on specific software features. Copilot Vision can connect multiple applications or files, helping users manage tasks like scheduling events. To use it, users access the Copilot Windows app, select items to share, and can ask questions about the shared content. The AI respects user privacy by only analyzing explicitly shared content.

The demand for real-time data in artificial intelligence is increasing, but integrating data from legacy systems poses challenges due to traditional ETL pipelines that can introduce latency. Open-source Postgres is favored for operational needs, and Neon offers a new approach to database creation using AI agents. Databricks has launched Lakebase, a managed Postgres database for AI applications, after acquiring Neon. Striim has expanded its Postgres offerings to enable high-throughput data ingestion from Neon into Databricks for real-time analytics and supports rapid data delivery from legacy systems into Neon. Striim's platform allows real-time replication of operational data from various traditional systems to Neon, real-time ingestion into Databricks, and enhances generative AI applications with inline data enrichment. Alok Pareek from Striim highlighted the importance of this expansion for Postgres-native teams to build real-time AI architectures. Striim also supports Databricks Delta Lake and SQL2Fabric-X for real-time SQL Server data access. Striim's platform processes over 100 billion daily events with sub-second latency, aiding proactive decision-making.

Microsoft released updates in June 2025 to address critical issues affecting Windows Server 2025 domain controllers, specifically authentication failures and network connectivity problems. The updates, encapsulated in KB5060842, resolved issues stemming from security update KB5055523, which altered certificate validation methods for Kerberos authentication. This change led to logging errors for self-signed certificates and affected Windows Hello for Business Key Trust deployments. Additionally, a separate issue prevented domain controllers from managing network traffic correctly after restarts, causing them to revert to standard firewall profiles. Microsoft provided a temporary workaround for administrators to manually restart network adapters until a permanent fix was implemented. The June updates addressed a total of 66 vulnerabilities, including 10 rated as Critical, and recommended immediate installation. Microsoft advised against setting the AllowNtAuthPolicyBypass registry key to ‘2’ for domain controllers using self-signed certificates until the latest updates were applied.

Microsoft has issued an emergency update for Windows users in June to address issues related to the June update (Windows 11 24H2 KB5060842), which caused significant problems for users with Easy Anti-Cheat gaming software. The initial update was paused due to stability concerns, and a patch was applied, but it did not resolve the issues. Users reported installation failures with error code (0x80073712). Microsoft acknowledged compatibility issues and ultimately retracted the faulty update, replacing it with the emergency update KB5063060. This new update addresses unexpected reboots while launching games that use Easy Anti-Cheat and will automatically download and install on affected devices.

The June update for Windows 10, identified as KB5060533 for version 22H2, introduces a feature where the taskbar clock displays seconds in the calendar panel. However, it also includes a new feature that promotes Microsoft services, specifically Bing and Edge, by showcasing popular public events instead of personal reminders in the calendar panel. This change directs users to information from Bing displayed in Microsoft Edge, potentially impacting user experience negatively. The update notes referred to the changes as providing a "rich calendar experience," which may not align with user preferences. Windows 10 is approaching its End of Life in October 2025, and Microsoft may be trying to maintain user engagement despite the upcoming transition to Windows 11.
