Patch 7 of Baldur's Gate 3 introduces expanded evil endings, allowing players to choose between destroying or enslaving the mind flayer superbrain known as The Absolute. The new endings primarily arise from the decision to enslave The Absolute, leading to various outcomes based on player choices. Characters can transform into mind flayers or retain their original forms, with options to align with or betray the Emperor. Specific character outcomes include: - Karlach discarding her failing machine heart and unleashing devils upon the town. - Lae'zel waging war against Vlaakith, empowered by an elder brain. - Astarion declaring himself a "sun god." The Dark Urge character has a unique ending where embracing their murderous tendencies leads to chaos, starting with the elimination of their love interest and culminating in a vision of a desolate world. Each ending features high-quality cutscenes, showcasing Larian Studios' commitment to storytelling and player experience. The existence of these darker narratives adds depth to the game's overarching story, enhancing the impact of more traditional happy endings.
