Indie Game Festival ‘BIC 2026’ Signs MOU with RedForce PC Arena

On June 12, the Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee and RedForce PC Arena signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the Busan Indie Connect Festival 2026 (BIC 2026). The partnership includes the creation of a dedicated 'FGT (Focus Group Test) Zone' at the festival, allowing gamers to provide feedback on exhibition titles. RedForce PC Arena will supply high-performance PCs and monitors and manage technical support for the testing environment. The organization will also promote BIC 2026 through its network of PC cafes. BIC 2026 will take place as a hybrid festival from August 7 to 28 online and from August 14 to 16 offline at BEXCO Exhibition Center 1, Hall 2, in Busan.

Security researchers find 213 vulnerabilities in Russia’s state-backed messaging app Max

Security researchers discovered 213 vulnerabilities in Max, Russia's state-backed messaging app, during a bug bounty initiative. This information was shared by Alexei Batyuk, CTO of Positive Technologies, at the Svyaz-2026 exhibition. The bug bounty program has been active since July 1, 2025, resulting in 288 accepted vulnerability reports and total payouts of nearly 22 million rubles. Common vulnerabilities could allow unauthorized access to user data through the manipulation of object identifiers. Max's press service claimed that user data is "reliably protected" and emphasized the importance of independent white-hat hackers in identifying vulnerabilities. Max was launched by VK in March 2025 and is being promoted by Russian authorities amid efforts to block other messaging platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp. The app has faced criticisms regarding user surveillance and security vulnerabilities.

Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue will debut in Asia at Green Canvas within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve from 24 April to 13 September 2026. This immersive experience has previously launched in Dallas, London, and Toronto and invites participants to save a village from a zombie siege through eight interactive rooms. The experience includes large-scale projections, theatrical sets, motion-tracking gameplay, and storytelling, with participants using a unique "Orb of Interaction." After completing the quest, players can visit the Trading Post for keepsakes and earn an in-game cape. Developed by Supply + Demand in collaboration with Microsoft and Mojang Studios, this event capitalizes on Minecraft's popularity, with over 300 million copies sold worldwide. Merlin Entertainments announced plans for additional location-based entertainment experiences inspired by Minecraft, expected to open between 2026 and 2027.

Presales begin on March 10, 2026, with general sales starting the next day, and discounts are available for WildPass and Friends of Mandai members until March 23, 2026.
