Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7271 (Dev & Beta Channels)

Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7271 (KB5070307) has been released for both the Dev and Beta Channels. Insiders can switch from the Dev Channel to the Beta Channel while both channels have the same updates. The Xbox full screen experience is now available for additional Windows 11 PC form factors, accessible through Task View, Game Bar settings, or the Win + F11 hotkey. Point-in-time restore is introduced for both channels, allowing users to revert their devices to a previous state. Fluid dictation is now available for voice typing users on NPU devices, enhancing the dictation experience. Vivo Android phone users can resume browsing activity from their phone to their PC, and users of Honor, Huawei, Oppo, Samsung, and Vivo can continue working on M365 Copilot app files across devices. The context menu in File Explorer is being refined, and users can now uninstall Store-managed apps directly from the Microsoft Store. Fixes include resolving taskbar issues, internet connectivity problems, and crashes in Settings. Known issues include the virtual keyboard not being visible for controller users and some applications exhibiting unexpected behavior with the Xbox full screen experience.

Google Ends Pixel 10 Exclusivity for Journal App in New Feature Drop

Google has extended the availability of its Journal app to users of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 series, in addition to the Pixel 10, as announced during the November 2025 Feature Drop. The app is currently exclusive to these devices and will not be available on non-Pixel smartphones. The Journal app functions as a personal digital diary and utilizes Google's advanced AI technology, Gemini Nano. Older models like the Pixel 7 cannot access the app due to hardware limitations. The November 2025 Feature Drop also includes notification summaries, Scam Detection for Pixel 6 and newer models in the U.S., and a “Wicked: For Good” theme with custom design elements.

Deus Ex Remastered announced for PlayStation 5, but surely it’ll also be on PC, right?

Eidos-Montréal and Aspyr announced a remaster of Deus Ex during Sony's State of Play event, set to launch on PlayStation 5 on February 5, 2026. The remaster will also be available on Xbox and PC via Steam. Enhancements include rebuilt character models, improved lip-syncing, and ragdoll physics, along with quality-of-life features such as autosaves, faster loading times, achievement tracking, cloud saves, and support for ultrawide and multi-monitor setups.

Microsoft Opens Windows 11 24H2 Update to All Users

Windows 11 24H2 was released in October of the previous year and includes enhancements such as an enriched File Explorer, a transformed Start menu with integrated Phone Connection and Power Settings, improved video calling, and increased incorporation of artificial intelligence. The initial rollout faced deployment challenges due to unforeseen bugs, but these have been addressed, and the update is now considered stable for widespread adoption. Minor issues remain, but they are classified as non-critical, allowing for expanded availability. Windows 11 24H2 is accessible for download on all compatible PCs, and users can upgrade from older versions by checking for updates in Settings. Additionally, automatic updates are being rolled out for unmanaged Windows 11 devices running versions 23H2 and 22H2.

Previewing Recall with Click to Do on Copilot+ PCs with Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel

Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.2415 (KB5046723) has been released to the Dev Channel, introducing features like Recall (Preview) and Click to Do (Preview) for Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. Users can join the Dev Channel by registering for the Windows Insider Program and selecting the Dev Channel in the settings. Recall allows users to search for previously interacted items on their PC using AI, requiring Windows Hello for authentication and enabling BitLocker and Secure Boot. Users can manage saved snapshots, delete unwanted ones, and ensure their data remains private. Recall detects sensitive information and does not save such snapshots. Click to Do integrates with Recall to enhance productivity by offering actions for recognized text and images within snapshots. This feature is also currently exclusive to Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. The update includes various improvements and fixes across Windows 11 PCs, such as enhancements to Windows Hello, Narrator, and speech functionalities. Known issues with Recall and Click to Do will be addressed in future updates.

Amazon Luna has expanded its game library with over 40 new games from the GOG store, offering more options for players without the need for a console or high-powered PC. Luna is now available in Poland, Austria, and the Netherlands, allowing more players to access the service. To play GOG games on Luna, players need to purchase or already own them.
