Windows BitLocker is fine. I still don’t trust it with everything

BitLocker is an encryption tool in Windows that secures data using a system of keys, with some keys stored in the motherboard's Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and others on the storage drive. Users must save a recovery key to prevent data loss, which can be stored on a removable disk, printed, or uploaded to the cloud. For Home license users, the recovery key usually defaults to cloud storage. Recently, vulnerabilities in BitLocker, including the "YellowKey" flaw, have been discovered, allowing individuals with physical access to bypass encryption. A second vulnerability was identified in June, also exploiting physical access to circumvent BitLocker's security.

LG kills McAfee pop-up after Windows boss steps in

LG has decided to stop the McAfee pop-up notifications in its Monitor App Installer following intervention from Pavan Davuluri, head of Windows at Microsoft. Spotted the new Android Developer Verifier app? Read this before you uninstall it

The updated sideloading process requires users to enable Developer mode, confirm they are not being coerced, restart their device, wait 24 hours, and authenticate before installing an APK. Although this process may seem cumbersome, it aims to disrupt scammers' tactics. Users can still sideload via ADB, which is exempt from the new restrictions. Keeping the Android Developer Verifier on the device is advised until the sideloading restrictions are fully implemented.
