YouTube has introduced a new feature called "Previews" for its mobile app, which allows users to view sneak peeks of recommended videos. This feature is currently being tested with a select group of users and presents "five to 10" previews through an entry card on the homepage. Users can choose to watch the full video or save it for later after viewing the previews. Additionally, YouTube has launched the "Reimagine" feature for Shorts, enabling users to transform scenes from a Short using AI. More AI-driven features are planned for development by 2026.

Microsoft has temporarily suspended the automatic installation of the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on Windows PCs equipped with M365 applications due to user resistance. The rollout, which began in December, was intended to integrate AI functionalities across tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Users in the European Economic Area were excluded by default, and IT administrators had the option to opt out. Existing installations of the app will not be removed, and users can choose to uninstall it if desired. Microsoft plans to provide further updates before any future rollout.

Microsoft's gaming console, codenamed Project Helix, integrates console and PC ecosystems, featuring a custom AMD System on Chip (SoC) with a 3nm process, and a GPU based on AMD's RDNA 5 architecture. It reportedly rivals Nvidia’s RTX 5080 in rasterization and outperforms the RTX 5090 in ray tracing. The console includes a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for enhanced AI capabilities, supporting both Xbox and PC games natively. It utilizes AMD’s FSR Diamond technology for near-native 4K visuals and incorporates DirectStorage technology for faster load times. Project Helix supports four generations of Xbox games and is expected to have alpha development kits available in early 2027, with a consumer launch in 2028, priced between ,000 and ,200.

Microsoft is reducing the number of entry points for its AI assistant, Copilot, in Windows 11, scaling back features in applications like Photos, Widgets, Notepad, and the Snipping Tool. This decision aims to create more meaningful AI experiences for users. Pavan Davuluri emphasized the importance of intentionality in AI interactions. A Pew Research study indicates that as of June 2025, half of U.S. adults are more concerned than excited about AI. Microsoft has previously abandoned plans for broader Copilot integrations and postponed the launch of the AI-powered memory feature, Windows Recall, due to privacy concerns. User feedback is influencing Microsoft's AI strategy, and additional enhancements to Windows 11 will include taskbar repositioning, improved control over system updates, faster File Explorer performance, and a better Widgets interface.
