Google has introduced a feature for Android users that allows them to create and run their own AI-generated applications on their smartphones, known as vibe coding. Users can develop apps via Google AI Studio and install them without public publication on the Google Play Store, keeping them hidden from Play search and listings. This feature is currently available only to U.S. users aged 18 and older and requires adherence to Google Play’s policies. Future enhancements will allow users to share their apps with trusted friends, and successful apps may transition to public release after evaluations. Additionally, Google is expanding AI integration within the Play ecosystem, including a game recommendation engine and app comparisons through the Ask Play assistant.

Two new platforms have launched on the PC scene: the Googlebook and the Nvidia RTX Spark platform. The Acer Googlebook 14 was reviewed by Ashley Biancuzzo, while the reviewer is currently focusing on Lenovo’s Googlebook 15, which has a subpar keyboard but features Google’s new Aluminium OS aimed at enhancing the Chromebook experience with AI-powered productivity. To fully utilize the Googlebook, an Android phone running Android 17 is required, although some Samsung phones have been allowed to connect. In contrast, Windows offers Phone Link, which connects an Android phone to a Windows PC and only requires Android 10, allowing for photo transfers, calls, messages, and running Android apps within PC windows. Phone Link is seen as a strong competitor to Googlebook’s offerings, except for app streaming.

Microsoft released the October Windows update, addressing over 1,400 vulnerabilities, including 80 critical vulnerabilities and two zero-day exploits. This update is the final supported update for Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro editions and the first for Windows 11 26H2. Notable enhancements include improvements to File Explorer and refined Bluetooth connectivity. One zero-day vulnerability, CVE-2026-96951, has been exploited in the wild, allowing remote attackers to bypass security protections. The second zero-day, CVE-2026-108398, could enable attackers to circumvent security measures in Microsoft’s .NET Framework. Windows 11 users can install the update via Settings and Windows Update, while Windows 10 users can follow a similar process. Each annual version, such as 24H2, will lose support after 24 months, necessitating an upgrade to Windows 11, version 26H2, for continued security updates. The update also introduces a feature to remap the Copilot key for enhanced user flexibility.
