A private VK Night party celebrated the launch of the Max messenger during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, hosted by Ksenia Sobchak and attended by Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadaev and VK CEO Vladimir Kiriyenko. The Max messenger was removed from the App Store on June 3 due to compliance with sanctions, despite previously ranking ninth among the most-downloaded apps in Russia.

Li’l Friday: ‘Beetlejuice,’ PC Highland Games, Venus Flytrap Festival

Every Thursday evening through Labor Day, the Carolina Beach Boardwalk hosts the Boardwalk Blast event, featuring free music and fireworks. On May 28, The Petty Mac Revue will perform at 6 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. On May 29, the Broadway tour of “Beetlejuice” will be at the Wilson Center, with five performances from May 29 to 31. Other events include “Ten-Minute Miscellany” at Thalian Hall, “Mahalia: A Gospel Musical” by Techmoja Dance Company, “Twelfth Night” by Cape Fear Shakespeare, and a stand-up comedy show by Nick Murphy at Dead Crow Comedy Room. On May 30, the Port City Highland Games will take place at 3600 Randall Parkway, celebrating Scottish heritage and benefiting paws4vets, with over 1,500 participants expected. Other events include NC Vibe Fest, a performance by Striking Copper at Waterline Brewing, The Pop Culture Expo at Elk’s Lodge, Venus Flytrap Festival at BSL Community Center, and CFCC Riverfront Boat Show. On May 31, “Dear Evan Hansen” will be performed at Front Street Theater, with final performances from May 28 to 31. Other events include a donation drive in the Brooklyn Arts District and a concert by Titans Wilmington Symphonic Band.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Officially Launches on Mobile Following PC Release

Netmarble launched 'Game of Thrones: Kingsroad' on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store at 10:00 AM on the 21st. The game was previously released on PC via Steam on the 14th. To celebrate the launch, Netmarble organized four events, including two attendance events and two level and mission achievement events, offering rewards such as a Rare-grade Wildling costume, an Advanced-grade Elk mount, and a Legendary Artifact Selection Chest. The game is set during Season 4 of the HBO series and is developed under an official license from HBO.

Overwatch slaps a loot box band-aid on its disappointing tenth anniversary event, promising more later

Overwatch is celebrating its tenth anniversary, but the event has received mixed reactions from players. In response to feedback, Blizzard will increase rewards for the anniversary event, doubling community loot boxes in week two and tripling them in week three. The number of games required to earn all 15 anniversary loot boxes has been reduced to 60, with wins counting as double. Players will receive a special ten-year anniversary loot box in week three containing four guaranteed legendary skins, raising the total to ten. However, the absence of mythic skins and the lack of access to older cosmetics have disappointed many long-time players. Keller indicated that rewards could extend beyond loot boxes, and he appreciates the community's engagement over the past decade.

Alan Wake heads to Phasmophobia next month in a new limited-time event, because we all know writers love a deadline

Phasmophobia is collaborating with Alan Wake 2 for a unique crossover event called "Phasmophobia by Alan Wake," starting on May 12 and running until June 2. Players can earn in-game rewards such as ID cards, character cosmetics, and possibly a trophy. Kinetic Games' art director, Corey Dixon, stated there are no current plans to rerun the event but is open to future collaborations if players enjoy it.
