Actor Walton Goggins has not played the video game franchise Fallout and does not intend to. Charlie Cox, known for his role as Daredevil, initially had not played the game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, where he voices the character Gustave, but later explored the game briefly, only experiencing the introductory segment. He reflected on the evolution of storytelling in games compared to titles from his youth, such as Goldeneye and Mario Kart. Cox noted that voicing Gustave felt different from his own identity and expressed disbelief at the dedication of players who have completed the game, which can take over 50 hours.

The Fitbit app on Android is being updated to version 4.66, which includes new features such as food and mood logging capabilities. The update is being rolled out in stages, and many users, including those with the Google Pixel 10 Pro, may not have immediate access. Food logging has been revamped and can be accessed via the Gemini coach button for public preview users, while standard users can still log meals using the “+” button. The update also enhances hydration tracking, allowing users to log water under the label “log water.” The navigation bar has been redesigned, replacing the Coach and You tabs with Fitness, Sleep, and Health tabs. The Health tab now includes new Focus Areas like Nutrition and Mental Wellbeing. The rollout is expected to continue over the coming days.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra has raised concerns about battery performance, leading users to seek solutions for extending battery life. In response, Google is working to simplify the identification of applications that drain battery resources, particularly those using the "wake lock" feature, which keeps the CPU active when the screen is off. Google plans to implement technical measures to reduce wake lock overuse and introduce disclaimers for apps that frequently exceed the "Excessive Partial Wake Lock" threshold. If issues persist, Google may limit the visibility of such apps in the Play Store. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve battery efficiency across Android devices, including a prototype warning for users about battery-draining apps. Google is also collaborating with developers to optimize apps that rely on background processes, as seen in its partnership with WHOOP to enhance battery efficiency in its applications.

Android 17 Beta 1 introduces several enhancements for Pixel smartphone users, starting from the Pixel 6. Key features include mandatory adaptive app width for foldables and tablets, support for the new h.266 video codec, optimized camera APIs for smoother third-party applications, and synchronized volume control. The update requires applications to implement dynamic width adjustments to utilize screen space effectively on larger devices, addressing issues with black bars. The camera APIs have been revamped to allow third-party apps to switch modes without reinitializing the camera session, improving performance. The beta version is available for all Pixel smartphones through the Pixel 10 series, with the final release expected in the second quarter of 2026. Additionally, the setup process for wearables and health devices has been streamlined, and various performance optimizations have been made to enhance stability and efficiency.
