Windows 11’s useless Copilot key finally does something, you can map it to right-click

Recent updates from Microsoft allow users to remap the Copilot key on Windows 11 to either the Right Ctrl key or the Context Menu key. This feature is part of the Release Preview Build 26100.9539 for 24H2 and 26200.9539 for 25H2, rolled out on September 10, 2026. Users can access this remapping option under Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Keyboard. The Copilot key was introduced in January 2024 but received criticism for being cumbersome. Microsoft acknowledged the challenges posed by the Copilot key, particularly for users relying on the Right Ctrl or Context Menu keys for shortcuts and assistive technologies. If remapped to the Right Ctrl key, certain shortcut combinations may not function as expected. The feature is expected to be fully rolled out on October 12, 2026.

Minecraft 26.3 Launches with New Dungeons II Rewards Integration

Minecraft version 26.3 is nearing its official release as the first Java Edition release candidate is available, part of the Wilderness Bound expansion. The update includes key fixes to combat mechanics, such as adjustments to blocking interactions and the removal of axes' ability to disable shields. It also corrects an error in the match_block loot predicate and resolves a visibility exploit with ender pearls. Additionally, Minecraft Dungeons II will allow players to unlock cosmetic items across Minecraft Dungeons II, Java Edition, and Bedrock Edition by using the same Microsoft account. Players who engage with the original Minecraft Dungeons before December 31, 2026, can obtain the Hero Cape, while pre-orders for Dungeons II will grant the Twisted Cape and other exclusive items. However, some Deluxe Edition rewards will remain exclusive to Dungeons II.

Microsoft fixes Teams, Outlook launch failures on ARM Windows PCs

Additionally, Microsoft acknowledged other issues related to updates from August, including disruptions in printing and PDF exporting due to .NET Framework updates, gaming problems from peripherals with RGB lighting, and alerts regarding Microsoft Defender Antivirus being disabled. They also fixed issues related to the loss of custom mouse settings and desktop configurations following the installation of the KB5120998 August 2026 preview update.
