Civilization 6 Platinum Edition goes free to kick off Epic’s 2025 Summer Sale

The Epic Games Store's 2025 Summer Sale has launched, featuring discounted titles and a free giveaway of the Civilization 6 Platinum Edition, which includes the base game, the Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm expansions, and six DLC packs. The Platinum Edition is available for free until July 24, while the sale runs until August 1. Other discounted games include It Takes Two, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Alan Wake Remastered, Far Cry 5, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, and Titanfall 2 Ultimate Edition. The Epic Rewards program allows users to earn rewards on purchases that can be used for future discounts.

Steam Users Can Get 2024 Games for Free Right Now

Two PC titles from 2024 are available for free on Steam for a limited time. One game, "Soulbound," developed by Schmoovin Studios and published by Dink, was released on January 21, 2024, and has an 89% approval rating on Steam. It is categorized as “Playable” on Steam Deck and will be removed from Steam on June 30, 2025. The game is a 2D PvP platformer where players take on the roles of a ninja and a ghost. The second title, "Holy Clash Cards," developed by Mttsus and Randomkey Inc, was released on May 22, 2024, and has a “Mostly Negative” rating. Its compatibility on Steam Deck is marked as “Unknown.” Holy Clash Cards will be available for free until June 9, while Soulbound will be free throughout June.

Control is free on the Epic Games Store for a limited time

The Epic Games Store is offering the game Control for free to all account holders until 6 PM UK time. Developed by Remedy Entertainment and originally launched in 2019, Control is a third-person action-adventure shooter that features supernatural elements. The base game is free, but the Season Pass for its downloadable content is available for £3.59. Users have less than 24 hours to claim Control before it is replaced by another title in the store's holiday giveaway.

PC users gifted 18 free games in huge giveaway, yours to keep forever

Amazon Prime members can access 18 free PC games through Prime Gaming in December. Notable titles include Tomb Raider: Underworld, Star Wars Bounty Hunter, Overcooked 2, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, and Dredge. Additional games such as Planet of Lana, Predator: Hunting Grounds, and The Town of Light will be released throughout the month. These games can be claimed via Amazon’s Prime Gaming website and will remain in the members' libraries permanently. Quake II will also be available next week. The games can be accessed through the Amazon Games app, the Epic store, or GOG.
