Linux was supposed to be temporary, but these things made me forget about Windows entirely

They initially viewed Linux as a temporary solution but grew to appreciate its flexibility, particularly the ability to choose different desktop environments like GNOME, KDE, and COSMIC. The author ultimately settled on Fedora KDE and later transitioned to openSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE, valuing the community-driven nature of Linux compared to corporate operating systems. They highlighted that Linux distributions are seen as tools for user empowerment rather than marketable products, emphasizing the community's collaborative spirit and focus on usability. The author no longer plans to return to Windows and is considering a future PC build without it, embracing the freedom and community that Linux offers.

Nothing’s Android 17 update debuts this week with redesigns, new apps, 3D emoji [Gallery]

Nothing OS 5.0, based on Android 17, will begin rolling out in mid-October. Key features include a new font style, status bar animations, camera app enhancements, improved sorting in Nothing Gallery, enhanced homescreen personalization, new lockscreen clock designs, added depth in wallpapers, new widgets, a dedicated Glyph app, upgraded Bluetooth controls, and essential AI updates. The rollout will start with Phone (3) and extend to other devices, including Phone (2a) by mid-January. Open Beta builds will launch on August 26 for Phone (3), with subsequent releases for other models. Official release dates for Nothing OS 5.0 are set for various devices from mid-October to mid-January 2027.

Iconic Retro Horror Game ‘Sanitarium Enhanced’ Coming to PC and Consoles

Ziggurat Interactive has announced two upcoming titles: Sanitarium Enhanced and Cosmi: Forbidden Forest & Beyond. Sanitarium Enhanced, a psychological horror game, will be available on PC (Steam, GOG), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch. It is a modernized version of the 1998 cult classic, featuring full controller support, widescreen presentation, and additional bonus content. Cosmi: Forbidden Forest & Beyond will be released for PC (Steam, GOG), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. Both announcements were made during the Pixel Arcadia showcase. A specific release date for Sanitarium Enhanced has not yet been provided.
