Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 gets Tokyo Game Show sign of life: ‘Since we called the first instalment Vol. 1, it’s only natural to expect a second one’

Noriaki Okamura, the producer of the Metal Gear Solid series, provided an update on the second volume of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection during a panel at the Tokyo Game Show. He acknowledged the long wait for the sequel and confirmed that it is in development. The first volume has been well-received, especially on PC, while emulation challenges have been noted for PlayStation. Metal Gear Solid 4 is expected to be included in Vol. 2, along with hopes for MGS Peace Walker, which has favorable emulation prospects. The team’s experience with MGS2 and MGS3 ports is seen as beneficial for tackling Peace Walker. There are discussions about including MGS5, referenced in datamined files from Vol. 1. Konami is considering whether to broadly interpret the "Metal Gear" legacy or stick to the "Metal Gear Solid" canon, with potential candidates for Vol. 2 including Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Metal Gear Ac!d 1 and 2, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Payday 2 launches DLC subscription service three weeks after raising prices, because we all need another Netflix

Gustav Nisser, head of commercial at Starbreeze, stated that the recent price increase of the Infamous Collection for Payday 2 was "completely unrelated" to the launch of their new subscription service. The price of the Infamous Collection increased from £100.29 to £145.33, nearly doubling in just three weeks. Earlier this year, the bundle was available for £80.71. In response to community backlash regarding the price change and its timing, Nisser acknowledged internal miscommunication and announced that the price would be reverted immediately. The subscription service for Payday 2 will launch in 2025, allowing players to access all DLC for a monthly fee of £3.99 or £15.99 for six months.

Gumball in Trick-or-Treat Land Announced For PC & Game Boy

Mega Cat Studios, in collaboration with Exquisite Laundry Pet, has announced the retro JRPG titled Gumball in Trick-or-Treat Land. The game will be released on Steam and as a physical cartridge for the Game Boy Color. Players will control a gumball on a quest to restore Trick-or-Treat Land, which is threatened by Chaos Sweets. The game features a lighthearted journey through a candy-filled world, recruitment of allies with unique skills, various puzzles and quests, and a turn-based combat system. The story begins when the gumball hero crash-lands in Trick-or-Treat Land and must retrieve a spellbook to help a local Scarecrow, leading to a quest for Seven Hallowed Patches. Players will encounter diverse characters and can cast spells, brew potions, and unlock magical abilities. The game aims to provide engaging challenges suitable for all ages.

Someone made ‘Windows’ for the Game Boy Color, and you can buy it

The Game Boy Color, launched in 1998, features a project called GBS Windows that mimics Windows 3.1, developed using GB Studio.
