The Epic Games Store has introduced preloading capabilities, allowing users to download pre-purchased titles up to five days before their official release. This feature is expected to enhance the user experience, particularly for larger games that require substantial download times. Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, and Steve Allison, general manager of the Epic Games Store, have acknowledged the need for improvements to the platform. Despite facing criticism, Epic Games has maintained a loyal user base, partly due to its weekly game giveaways. The introduction of preloading is seen as a significant step forward for the store.
