Blue Archive launched on Steam after four years as a mobile exclusive, quickly gaining over 20,000 concurrent players and more than 10,000 reviews. A controversy arose when it was revealed that the developer organized an in-game event encouraging players to leave reviews on Steam, which violates Steamworks guidelines. Players were promised in-game rewards if the review count reached 10,000, but this event has since been removed. A user pointed out that developers are prohibited from manipulating the review system or soliciting reviews for rewards. Blue Archive is categorized as a tactical RPG with gacha elements, and following its release, Umamusume: Pretty Derby also achieved over 50,000 concurrent players on Steam.

Co-CEO Mark Gerhard suggested that negative sentiment towards MindsEye may be influenced by external forces, although he did not provide evidence for this claim.

Publisher Kepler Interactive stated that the launch of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered did not negatively impact the debut of their title, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Senior portfolio director Matt Handrahan expressed optimism, noting that the remaster increased interest in the RPG genre. He highlighted the distinct identities within RPGs, with players often favoring either Western or Japanese styles. Handrahan felt confident about Expedition 33's launch due to its competitive price and inclusion in Game Pass. He reported that the launch week went well, with Oblivion becoming the highest-grossing game on Steam and Expedition 33 securing the No. 3 position.

Launching a video game is complex and challenging, especially for indie developers competing against major titles like GTA 6. Bethesda's announcement of Oblivion Remastered negatively impacted smaller developers, as its release on April 22 coincided with the launch of indie games like Post Trauma and Starless Abyss, leading to visibility issues. Developers reported significant revenue drops; Brian Bucklew estimated a 10-20% decrease in daily revenue, while Francisco González experienced a complete halt in sales after Oblivion's launch. This pattern of major releases overshadowing smaller games has been observed previously, such as with Monster Hunter Wilds in March.

Base-building real-time strategy game Tempest Rising was released on Steam a week earlier than planned, with a new launch date set for April 17 instead of April 24. The game has received an 85% rating in early reviews. Deluxe Edition buyers lost their early access privilege due to the early release, but the developer plans to create exclusive in-game content for them as compensation. The early launch has been positively received by the broader gaming community.
