‘Stellar Blade’ Rockets To A Million PC Sales In Three Days

Stellar Blade achieved sales of one million copies within three days of its PC launch, contributing to total sales of 3 million since its release in April 2024, a 50% increase. Approximately 58% of sales occurred in China, where the game is priced lower than in the U.S. The game reached a peak concurrent player count of over 190,000 and received a 92% rating on Steam and an 86 score on Metacritic. SHIFTUP plans further updates and is considering a sequel for 2027, with no current plans to bring the game to Xbox. Sony is focusing on releasing major AAA titles on PC, while multiplayer games are launched simultaneously on PC.

Sony unlocks regional restrictions for some PC games in more than 100 countries

Sony has removed regional restrictions on several popular PC titles available on Steam, allowing players in 177 countries to access games like God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Spider-Man 2, and Helldivers 2. This change follows a backlash against a previous requirement for players to link their Steam accounts to the PlayStation Network (PSN), which barred access in regions without PSN. The PSN requirement has since been lifted for other titles, and the optional PSN login for Stellar Blade led to a successful launch with nearly 200,000 players in its first week. However, some titles, such as Ghost of Tsushima and Until Dawn, still have regional restrictions.

The game sold 1 million copies within its first month of release and is currently the #1 seller on Steam. A sequel is confirmed with a tentative release date set for 2027.

PlayStation PC Games Run On The New Xbox Handheld

Asus has unveiled the ROG Xbox Ally handheld devices, which allow access to Microsoft's library of PC games as well as PlayStation's PC game offerings. These devices run Windows, enabling users to play various titles from Sony, including Days Gone, The Last of Us, Spider-Man, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Helldivers 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and God of War Ragnarök. The devices are expected to support PlayStation remote play from the PS5 and come in two models: the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X. They feature an "Xbox full-screen experience" and a dedicated Xbox button, along with the Game Bar overlay for easy navigation. Microsoft has paused development on a standalone Xbox handheld but is working on a new Xbox console that may include a handheld device.
