‘Adversaries are no longer just targeting products, they’re targeting the developers who build them’: CrowdStrike takes down major botnet targeting developers across the world

CrowdStrike, Google, and the Shadowserver Foundation dismantled the Glassworm botnet on May 26, 2026, which had been targeting software developers since early 2025. The botnet spread through compromised Visual Studio Code extensions, tainted npm and Python packages, and hacked GitHub repositories, stealing developer credentials and deploying the GlasswormRAT remote access tool across Windows, macOS, and Linux. Glassworm utilized four command-and-control channels: the Solana blockchain, BitTorrent DHT, Google Calendar event titles, and traditional VPS. The operation successfully disrupted all four channels, preventing infected machines from receiving new instructions or payloads.

Google is giving Search its biggest overhaul in 25 years

Google’s new gradient icons for Gmail, Calendar, Drive and more are finally rolling out

These icons feature a more fluid and colorful gradient aesthetic, moving away from the traditional four-color scheme. The redesign marks a significant shift towards gradients and blended colors, with the Google Drive icon showcasing shades of green, yellow, and blue, and the Google Calendar icon returning to a predominantly blue design. Gmail's logo retains its envelope shape but now includes gradients, while the Google Meet icon has adopted a yellow-centric gradient style. Keep and Tasks icons have also been simplified for a softer look. The new icons are expected to roll out more broadly during Google I/O week or shortly thereafter.

Your Pixel 10 could soon get a lot smarter thanks to a major Magic Cue expansion
