Apple’s new gaming app could do what Google Play Games never did

Apple is planning to launch a new gaming app that will be preinstalled on iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs. The app will centralize user activity, achievements, leaderboards, communications, and more, as well as promote Apple Arcade. The app will also support third-party titles downloaded outside the App Store on Macs.

Someone ported the iconic pinball game from Windows XP to Android, and it’s free

"Space Cadet" pinball game from Windows XP has been ported to Android by developer Kyle Sylvertre. The game is optimized for touchscreens, supports 18 languages, integrates with Google Play Games for a leaderboard, and is less than 5MB in size. Android games will soon be compatible by default for Google Play Games PC, unless devs opt out of it intentionally

Google announced a new strategy for Google Play Games PC platform at GDC 2025. The platform will now offer options for "PC Only" and "PC Limited Exclusivity" in addition to traditional "Android to PC" conversions. Developers can earn up to an additional 15% revenue for native PC games and will have easier access to the platform with the new default "opt-in" setting. Google Play Points will offer more booster periods and bonus rewards exclusive to the PC platform.

Google introduces new developer tools and titles for games on mobile and PC

Google has introduced new features for PC and mobile gaming, coinciding with the Game Developers Conference (GDC).
