OpenAI has launched the ChatGPT app for Windows, available through the Microsoft Store, mirroring the earlier Mac version. Currently, it is in early release for paid subscribers (Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users), with plans for a wider rollout to free-tier users in the coming weeks or months. The Windows app lacks some features present in the Mac and web versions, including advanced voice modes, integration with Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, and external authentication through GPT Builder. Users can upload files and photos for analysis using the o1 model. The app includes features like the ‘Alt + Space’ shortcut for quick access and remembers its previous screen position upon reopening.
