Six months ago, ASUS and AMD launched the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X in 45 countries, combining Xbox capabilities with Windows 11 in a portable format. Player feedback has led to continual updates, optimizing hundreds of games for handheld play and introducing features like Default Game Profiles and expanded Xbox mode. Recent updates include automatic gameplay transition to TV when docked, support for HDR10 and Variable Refresh Rate on certain docks, a Display Widget for adjusting settings via the Game Bar, improved controller pairing, and the Gamepad Cursor feature for non-controller supported applications. Automatic Super Resolution is now in preview for Xbox Insiders on the ROG Xbox Ally X, enhancing visual quality. The Xbox Wireless Headset now supports Bluetooth LE Audio for reduced latency and improved battery life. The Xbox PC app has been revamped to consolidate games from various storefronts into one library. ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X Now Available Worldwide

The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handheld devices are now available in 45 countries, developed in collaboration with ASUS and AMD. Xbox rolling out Handheld Compatibility Program for Rog Ally consoles

Microsoft is launching its Handheld Compatibility Program ahead of the ROG Ally handheld gaming devices release. The program categorizes games into two segments: Handheld Optimised, which are fully compatible with the ROG Ally, and Mostly Compatible, which may need minor adjustments. A Windows Performance Fit feature will indicate expected game performance on the new hardware. Xbox's Corporate Vice President Roanne Sones stated that Microsoft will collaborate with developers to test both new and existing PC titles for compatibility. The ROG Xbox Ally is set to launch on October 16th, with the base model speculated to cost 9.99 and the advanced ROG Xbox Ally X priced at 9.99.

We waited 14 years to get Red Dead Redemption on PC, and we’ll have to wait even longer to find out how well it plays on Steam Deck

Red Dead Redemption has been released on PC after 14 years, available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Rockstar Store. The PC version features enhancements such as support for 144Hz refresh rates, ultrawide monitor compatibility, adjustable shadows, draw distances, AMD FSR, and NVIDIA DLSS 3.7. It includes the Undead Nightmare expansion. However, Rockstar has not tested the game on the Steam Deck, raising concerns about compatibility despite the use of Proton for running PC titles on the device.
