Oasis is an AI-generated game developed by the hardware startup Etched, in collaboration with AI developer Decart. It allows players to create and modify virtual environments in real time and is inspired by the sci-fi narrative “Ready Player One.” The demo was showcased on Twitter, and it operates on Nvidia’s H100 Tensor Core GPUs, with plans for Etched's own chipset, Sohu, which will offer faster performance. The project is currently free and serves as a research and proof-of-concept initiative. Interest in the demo has surged, overwhelming the hosting site. The technology behind Oasis relies on AI to produce graphics in real time without a traditional game engine.

Sightful has canceled the Spacetop G1, originally priced at ,900, which was set to launch in October 2024. Customers who pre-ordered will receive refunds of their 0 deposits. The decision was influenced by challenges in competing with Microsoft’s advanced neural processing units (NPUs) found in Surface laptops and offerings from other established manufacturers. The Spacetop G1 was designed to run on an Android-based SpaceOS with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon QCS8550 chipset and was intended to work with XREAL Air 2 Ultra glasses. Sightful is shifting its focus to a software solution for Windows laptops, aiming to provide an AR experience that integrates with Microsoft’s CoPilot AI, expected to launch in early 2025. The software will initially support XREAL AR glasses via USB-C, with plans to extend compatibility to Mac users and potentially other devices in the future.
