Apple has removed the Russian state-backed messaging application, Max, from its App Store, stopping new downloads of the platform. VK, the developer of Max, confirmed this action and stated that existing users can still use the app. VK is seeking clarification from Apple and advising users to consider alternative download options. Earlier, Cloudflare had flagged Max's domain as spyware, a designation that was later lifted. The removal of Max follows a similar action against another VK service, Telega, which Apple removed after Cloudflare identified its domains as spyware. Concerns about Max's functionality as a surveillance tool have been raised, with reports of hidden features such as remote microphone recording and contact list harvesting. Since September 2025, Max has been preinstalled on new smartphones sold in Russia.

A cybersecurity report released on May 22, 2026, identifies a counterfeit Android application posing as the official app of the Cockroach Janta Party as a significant malware threat. The malicious app, known as Cockroach.Janta.Party, functions as a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) and can infiltrate Android devices, steal sensitive information, intercept communications, and control infected smartphones. The genuine Cockroach Janta Party has no affiliation with this app and is a victim of brand impersonation. The app is distributed through WhatsApp, Telegram, and misleading websites, particularly a rogue domain, cockroachjantaparty[.]org. It targets Android devices running versions 8.0 to 14 and requests elevated permissions, including access to camera, SMS, call logs, and contacts, while misusing the Android Accessibility Service to read on-screen content and grant itself additional permissions. The app contains multiple malicious modules for data exfiltration and uses a Command and Control infrastructure based on the Telegram Bot API. Users are advised to uninstall the app, disable Accessibility permissions, reset banking credentials, enable two-factor authentication, and conduct a full mobile security scan. The legitimate Cockroach Janta Party is encouraged to issue a formal clarification regarding the impersonation.

Armed police officers responded to a false report, with around 20 police cars and five SWAT vans arriving at her residence. Jacquot's grandson noted the spectacle outside, and the responding officers treated her with respect, even requesting her autograph. One officer suspected the call was a hoax after seeing her livestreaming setup. Despite the incident, Jacquot resumed her Minecraft livestream the next morning, harvesting around 60 Nether warts for potions.

Conduit Crystals are essential for enhancing tools with the Feedback Resonator or Bioscanner upgrade in Subnautica 2. Players need five crystals for crafting, and they can be found primarily beneath the Alien Power Plant and on ledges near alien structures. Each crystal node resembles coral and requires the Sonic Resonator for harvesting. An additional crystal is located below the first, within the crater of the Angel Comb. Heading northeast from the Angel Comb and following the purple tube down the ravine leads to two more crystals on the right, near luminescent green pools. Players can also scan the Feedback Resonator at this location.
