Windows 11 Snipping Tool Gains “Add Text” Feature for Better Annotations

Windows 11's Snipping Tool will soon allow users to insert text directly into screenshots, as revealed by tipster @phantomofearth on X. This feature was demonstrated in a recent Insider build and includes a new "Text" button in the toolbar for easy text entry. Users can move, resize, change fonts, and select colors for the text. Microsoft has not confirmed the rollout timeline, but Insiders are expected to access the feature first, with a broader release anticipated in a future update.

Introducing Messaging and Highlighted Perspectives on Threads

Threads has been active for two years and is evolving into a significant social application for Meta, with over a third of its daily users following accounts different from their Instagram connections. The platform has introduced direct messaging (DMs) to facilitate one-on-one conversations, initially available only between Threads followers or mutual Instagram followers aged 18 and older, with privacy and safety measures in place. Threads ups its game with DMs, distancing itself from Instagram’s shadow

Threads users can now send Direct Messages (DMs) to their followers or mutual followers, starting today. Messaging is restricted to users who follow each other and mutual followers aged 18 and older for safety and privacy reasons. Additionally, Threads will introduce Group Messaging for conversations among multiple participants and a Highlighter feature to highlight significant discussions in yellow. These features aim to enhance user interaction and engagement on the platform.
