Fake Proton VPN sites are pushing NWHStealer malware to Windows users

A malware campaign is utilizing counterfeit Proton VPN websites and other deceptive tactics to distribute a Windows infostealer known as NWHStealer. This malware extracts sensitive information, including browser credentials and cryptocurrency wallet details, and operates stealthily by injecting itself into legitimate processes. Two primary infection vectors have been identified: malicious ZIP archives on a free web hosting platform and trojanized installers from fake Proton VPN sites. The malware employs DLL hijacking and can exfiltrate data to a command-and-control server while ensuring persistence through scheduled tasks and disguising payloads as legitimate system processes. It also exploits the Windows cmstp.exe utility to bypass User Account Control. Users are advised to avoid downloading software from unofficial sources and to verify file signatures and publisher information.

Games Workshop brings seven classic Warhammer games to Steam for the first time

Microsoft Locked Out VeraCrypt, WireGuard, and Windscribe from Pushing Windows Updates

Microsoft implemented a mandatory account verification process for all partners in the Windows Hardware Program who had not completed verification since April 2024, effective October 16, 2025. This requirement necessitated that partners verify their identities using a government-issued ID matching the name of the primary contact in the Partner Center. Failure to meet this deadline or pass verification resulted in account suspension, preventing further submissions. This affected the ability of developers to sign Windows kernel drivers, leading to suspensions for notable open source projects like VeraCrypt, WireGuard, and Windscribe. Mounir Idrassi, the developer of VeraCrypt, reported his account was terminated without notice, and Jason Donenfeld of WireGuard faced similar issues. Windscribe experienced a prolonged resolution process despite having a verified account for over eight years. Following these suspensions, Scott Hanselman from Microsoft announced that the accounts would be reinstated and corrective measures were being taken.

Update Windows 11 will block Denuvo hacking via Hypervisor

Microsoft has confirmed a major kernel security update for Windows 11, revoking trust in older drivers signed through an outdated cross-certification program. The update will ensure that Windows 11 accepts only software that has passed the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program's testing standards. How multiplayer works in Slay the Spire 2

In Slay the Spire 2, co-op gameplay allows one player to host a multiplayer save, with up to three additional players joining as long as they are Steam friends.
