Kemuri is a co-op action game focused on hunting mythical demons in urban environments, developed by Ikumi Nakamura's studio. The first gameplay trailer was revealed during Sony's State of Play event, showcasing vibrant animation and dynamic action. The game aims to provide a multiplayer experience similar to the Dark Souls series, featuring unique hunters and yokai. Questions remain about its structural design, including whether it will be open-world or mission-based and if it will prioritize campaign or loot systems. Kemuri's launch is timed with a cultural interest in demon hunting, and it is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 in 2027, with hopes for a PC version.

Hermen Hulst, CEO of PlayStation Studios, confirmed that major narrative-driven titles from PlayStation studios will be exclusive to the PlayStation platform. This indicates a shift in Sony's strategy, favoring exclusivity for flagship single-player intellectual properties. While some titles like Horizon Hunters Gathering may still release on both PC and PlayStation, major studio productions will likely be exclusive. Notable exceptions include Helldivers 2, which will launch on Xbox, and the PS5 shooter Saros, which will not be available on PC. Upcoming title Kena: Scars of Kosmora will be published on Steam and the Epic Games Store, while also being listed under Sony Interactive Entertainment on the PlayStation Store. The multiplayer game Horizon Hunters Gathering is expected to launch on PC, but future mainline entries in the Horizon series featuring protagonist Aloy are unlikely to see a PC release. Titles like Ghost of Yotei and Marvel's Wolverine are expected to remain exclusive to PlayStation.

Cybersecurity threat hunters have discovered an active infostealer campaign targeting the gaming community, involving malware called LofyStealer (or GrabBot) that disguises itself as a Minecraft hack named “Slinky.” The attackers use the official game icon to trick young gamers into executing the malware. The Brazilian cybercrime group LofyGang has enhanced its technical capabilities, utilizing a sophisticated two-stage modular architecture. The initial stage features a 53.5 MB loader file named load.exe, which is a Node.js runtime environment that obscures malicious signatures. The loader connects to the attacker’s server and decrypts a 1.4 MB C++ payload, chromelevator.exe, which targets eight web browsers to extract sensitive information like cookies and passwords. The stolen data is compressed, encrypted, and sent to the attacker’s server. LofyGang has evolved into a Malware-as-a-Service platform, offering a web panel for operators to monitor victims and generate custom executables. The campaign highlights the increasing threats to the gaming community, with advanced evasion techniques being employed by cybercriminals. Security professionals are advised to monitor network traffic and conduct audits for suspicious activities.
