Indaina’s Largest Corn Maze Has a Minecraft Theme

North Folk Farms, located in Waterloo, Indiana, is home to the largest corn maze in the state, a tradition since 2011. The farm features various activities such as pumpkin picking, hayrides, and a zip line. This year's corn maze theme is inspired by Super Mario Bros, while the 2025 design will be based on the upcoming Minecraft Movie. The corn maze opens on August 29th.

Bethesda Softworks has released Heretic+Hexen, a compilation of remastered editions of Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders and Hexen: Beyond Heretic, during QuakeCon 2025. The compilation is available on Xbox platforms, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Windows and Steam. It includes the original titles, Hexen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel, and two new episodes: Heretic: Faith Renewed and Hexen: Vestiges of Grandeur, totaling 117 campaign maps and 120 deathmatch maps. The remastered versions feature online cross-platform deathmatch and co-op for up to 16 players, local split-screen for up to 8 players, an enhanced soundtrack, community mod support, improved performance with multithreaded rendering, accessibility options, modern controller support, and translations into 12 languages. Beneath is an upcoming survival horror first-person shooter set to launch in 2025 on Xbox, PS5, and PC, developed by Camel 101 and published by Wired Productions. It features Lovecraftian themes and is set primarily near, on, or beneath the ocean. Players will assume the role of Noah Quinn, an experienced diver facing nightmarish creatures and an ancient evil while trying to protect his daughter and humanity. The game includes adaptive AI enemies and limited ammunition, requiring players to strategize and use stealth. A free-to-play demo is available on Steam until August 4, 2025.

First Version of BioShock RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod Released

A demo for the RTX Remix Mod for the original BioShock game has been released by modders ‘skurtyyskirts’ and ‘watbulb’. This mod introduces real-time Path Tracing to enhance the game's graphics, utilizing improved materials through physically-based rendering (PBR) assets. The mod includes a custom compatibility wrapper to facilitate communication between BioShock, which operates on Unreal Engine 2.5, and RTX Remix. Radical Fish Games announced a public PC demo for their upcoming action RPG, Alabaster Dawn, set to release in September 2025. Players will control Juno, the Outcast Chosen, in a world where gods and humanity have disappeared, with a mission to defeat Nyx and restore the world. The game features an estimated playtime of 30 to 60 hours and includes seven distinct areas. Players can rebuild settlements, establish trade routes, and advance scientific knowledge, leading to visual transformations and new pathways. The combat system allows players to control four elemental forces and choose from eight weapons, each with its own skill tree for unlocking Combat Arts and equipping Divine Arts. Exploration involves solving puzzles and discovering hidden paths, treasures, and resources, with rewards including cooking recipes and upgrade materials. The map system enables fast-travel and objective marking, while gems can be slotted into weapons for enhancements. Cooking will enhance healing options and elevate players' Palate Level for stronger dish effects.

GTA 5 finally launches in Saudi Arabia and the UAE 12 years after its global release — will be age-rated 21+ as part of the new regulatory framework

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online have been officially released in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, receiving a new 21+ age rating from the General Authority for Media Regulation and the UAE Media Council. This approval allows local gamers to purchase and enjoy the game legally, marking a shift towards more progressive content regulation in the region. Previously, the game was inaccessible due to its portrayal of violence, sex, and drug use. Over 90% of PC and console players in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt are over the age of 21, and the gaming market in these countries is projected to grow significantly by 2029. Additionally, Take-Two Interactive has established a partnership with the Saudi-based Advanced Initiative Company for local distribution of its major franchises, including GTA V. The approval comes ahead of the anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on May 9, 2026, which is expected to launch in the region without previous regulatory delays. As of May 2025, GTA V has sold over 215 million copies worldwide.

Sega and Netflix partner with Roblox’s new licensing platform

Roblox has launched a new licensing initiative to facilitate the integration of external intellectual properties (IPs) into its platform. Companies such as Sega, Netflix, Lionsgate, and Kodansha are participating, with Sega allowing Roblox to develop games based on its Like a Dragon franchise and Netflix providing titles like Squid Game and Stranger Things. The licensing platform includes the Roblox License Manager, which enables companies to register their IPs and define usage terms. For example, Sega requires that creators attract at least 1,000 daily active users to use the Like a Dragon IP, after which they can retain 50% of the revenue. Roblox plans to expand the platform by onboarding more IP holders and exploring additional licensing options.
