Mojang is introducing baby mobs in Minecraft that have unique visual identities and sounds, rather than just being smaller versions of adults. New models for baby pigs and baby turtles have been showcased, with baby turtles being described as "one of the smallest baby mobs." Enhancements are also coming for baby dolphins, squids, glow squids, and axolotls. A new craftable item, the golden dandelion, allows players to keep baby mobs small indefinitely by combining one regular dandelion with eight gold ingots. Currently, these new mobs and the golden dandelion are available for testing in Minecraft Java snapshots and Minecraft Bedrock previews. The full update's release date is not yet announced, but more content, including potential new baby mobs like foxes, armadillos, and polar bears, is anticipated.

NGL has partnered with Mode Mobile, known for its “EarnPhone,” which allows users to earn money through everyday tasks while viewing advertisements. NGL gained popularity in late 2021, becoming a notable anonymous messaging app alongside others like LMK and YOLO, but faced controversies related to bullying and harassment. In 2022, Snapchat banned third-party apps like NGL after a lawsuit related to a suicide. NGL also reportedly sent fake messages to users, leading to a fine from the FTC and a prohibition on offering services to minors. Following the acquisition, NGL's founders will step back, and the remaining employees will integrate into Mode Mobile, which monetizes user attention through rewards for engagement in activities like listening to music or browsing the internet.

X is developing a standalone messaging application called X Chat, with a desktop version already available for managing direct messages (DMs) more efficiently. A mobile app for X Chat is also in the works to compete with messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Messenger. Elon Musk's vision for X is inspired by China's WeChat, aiming to create an "everything app" that integrates messaging and various transactions. The project includes plans for payment functionalities to facilitate financial activities within the app, but X has not yet secured the necessary licenses for money transfers in the U.S. or the EU. There are concerns about user trust in Musk's leadership and the feasibility of successfully transforming X into a super app, leading to skepticism about the necessity of a separate messaging app.
