Google has launched the Nano Banana Pro, an upgraded version of its image generation tool, now called Gemini 3 Pro Image. This new tool enhances user experience by producing more accurate and visually engaging images, featuring context-rich visuals and improved text legibility. Users can adjust angles and focus for greater control over their creations. The rollout begins on November 20 within the Gemini app. Nano Banana Pro allows seamless merging of up to 14 images and introduces "creative controls" for precise image manipulation. The original Nano Banana remains available for users seeking a simpler experience, with the Pro version accessible to consumers and students, offering a limited free quota and higher limits for subscribers. Since its launch in late August, Nano Banana has attracted 10 million new users and generated over 200 million images.

Google unveiled Androidify, a platform that allows users to create personalized Android bots from selfies or text prompts using advanced AI models, including the "Nano-Banana" image generator from Gemini. The service captures general features and accessories without replicating users' faces. Androidify uses Gemini 2.5 Flash to validate selfies and employs a tailored version of Imagen 3 for generating custom avatars. Users can also create backgrounds for their bots with Nano-Banana and animate their creations using Veo 3, producing 8-second videos weekly.

The Google Pixel 9 series introduced the Pixel Studio app, which generates AI images from text prompts. Initial feedback indicates challenges with the app, including the generation of inappropriate content despite restrictions. Testers reported unsettling images, such as a cartoon character as a German soldier with a Nazi insignia and a character in a school setting surrounded by deceased children. Google stated that the AI model should not produce such images and is working to block problematic prompts on some devices. The launch of the Pixel Studio app raises concerns given previous issues with Google's Gemini image generation tool, which faced similar challenges earlier this year.
