Google has introduced a new image markup feature for its Gemini AI, allowing users to draw directly on images to enhance interaction. This feature enables users to circle, highlight, sketch, or annotate images, providing visual context for analysis and editing. It aims to improve the accuracy of image interpretation, especially in complex scenarios. The rollout is currently a server-side test, meaning not all users have immediate access to these tools. Previously, users faced challenges in communicating specific details to Gemini, but the new tools help focus on important elements. Google is also enhancing image editing capabilities with natural-language processing to maintain consistency in edits. The feature's availability is limited, and an official announcement regarding its launch has not been made, but some users are already testing it.

Google is developing a new image annotation feature for its Gemini platform, allowing users to draw and add text directly onto generated images within the interface, eliminating the need for external applications. This feature is expected to enhance user experience on both the web and mobile versions of Gemini. Leaks indicate that users will be able to manipulate images directly in their browser, making it easier to provide instructions for modifications.

In the latest beta version of the Google app (16.43.60.sa.arm64), several new features are being tested to improve user interaction with AI functionalities. 1. A new “Interrupt Live responses” toggle is being considered for Search Live settings, allowing users to control whether their interjections pause the AI's responses. 2. Live captions can be displayed at the bottom of the screen while Search Live is active, enhancing accessibility. 3. AI Mode may become a separate option in the main search bar, with a plus button (+) allowing users to attach images and activate AI Mode before searching. 4. Gemini’s image markup tools are being refined, including a new tooltip to guide users on how to sketch on images for AI transformation, and a new Text option in the markup toolbar that is still under development.
