Embracer Group will spin off the newly rebranded Coffee Stain Group by the end of 2025, establishing it as an independent entity focused on community-driven game development and publishing. The Coffee Stain Group includes studios like Coffee Stain, Ghost Ship Games, and Tuxedo Labs, and is associated with popular titles such as Goat Simulator, Deep Rock Galactic, Satisfactory, and Valheim. CEO Anton Westbergh expressed pride and anticipation for the transition, believing it will allow Coffee Stain to thrive independently. Embracer Group's CEO Lars Wingefors supported this move, emphasizing the talent and IPs within Coffee Stain Group. This announcement follows Embracer Group's decision to spin off its subsidiary Asmodee and rebrand Middle Earth and Friends to Fellowship Entertainment.

The inaugural Indie Game Utsav will take place at the Mumbai Comic Con on April 12-13, 2025, showcasing 40 homegrown PC and console games at the Jio World Convention Centre. Supported by Xbox, Xsolla, and Nodwin Gaming, the festival aims to help indie creators overcome challenges in the industry. PC gaming constitutes 22 percent of India's video game revenue, with a global Steam player base of 132 million. The event will facilitate interactions with international publishers like Krafton, Epic Games, and Devolver Digital, and will include networking events, pitch sessions, and skill-building workshops. Pre-event activities will feature a two-day session by RawFury, workshops by Epic Games, and a Game Maker Mixer. The festival's founder, Avichal Singh, aims to help quality indie games from India achieve success, reflecting the potential demonstrated by titles like Raji: An Ancient Epic.

Kodansha has launched the Fairy Tail Indie Game Guild project to empower independent game developers to create games inspired by Hiro Mashima’s manga series. The first two games announced are: 1. Fairy Tail: Dungeons - Scheduled for release on August 26, 2024, for most of the world and August 27, 2024, for Japan, South Korea, Eastern Australia, and New Zealand. It features rogue-lite gameplay with magic cards inspired by the series' characters. 2. Fairy Tail: Beach Volleyball Havoc - Set for a simultaneous worldwide release on September 16 or 17, 2024, depending on the player's time zone, focusing on beach volleyball matches among Fairy Tail characters. A third game, Fairy Tail: Birth of Magic, is also planned, featuring an original magic creation system. All games will be available digitally on PC via Steam and support seven languages.
