New out-of-band Windows 11 update fixes March’s installation errors – how to get it

Microsoft faced backlash due to the March non-security preview update (KB5079391) for Windows 11, which caused installation errors for many users. In response, Microsoft paused the initial update and released an out-of-band update (KB5086672) on March 31, 2026, to address these issues. The new update includes all enhancements from the previous update and fixes the installation problems. Users set to receive preview updates will automatically download KB5086672, while others can manually check for it in the Windows Update settings. I had high hopes for Nvidia’s DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Gen, but it’s not quite what I expected

Nvidia DLSS 4.5 has been released in beta, featuring advancements in frame generation technology, including the ability to generate up to five "fake frames" with a 6x frame generation option. The Dynamic Multi Frame Generation (MFG) allows users to benefit from multi-frame generation without it being constantly active. This feature is available exclusively for RTX 5000 series graphics cards. Testing with an RTX 5080 showed that activating 2x frame generation increased frame rates to an average of 105fps, while 4x frame generation raised it to approximately 180fps, albeit with increased input lag. The Dynamic Frame Generation mode maintained frame rates between 210fps and 250fps but resulted in a peak PC latency of 68ms. Lowering the target FPS to 120 stabilized frame rates around 120fps with 2x or 3x frame generation, improving responsiveness. Results may vary based on game settings, and exceeding 3x frame generation can lead to input lag. Dynamic MFG allows for easier configuration by automatically adjusting frame generation based on the target refresh rate.

Google is Finally Forcing 64-bit on All Wear OS Apps

As of September 15, 2026, all new apps and updates for Wear OS must include a 64-bit version in addition to the existing 32-bit version. The Play Store will block uploads of non-compliant apps after this deadline. Current users of smartwatches running on a 32-bit version of Wear OS will continue to receive app support. The introduction of 64-bit app versions is expected to improve performance, enhance security, and allow for the use of more than 4GB of RAM in smartwatches.
