Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5661 (KB5060838), which addresses a bug that caused the Windows Vista startup sound to play instead of the Windows 11 melody. Users can access recent snapshots and a summary of the top three applications and websites they engaged with in the past 24 hours. Microsoft’s new AI agent can change Windows settings for you

Windows 11 Insiders surprised by return of Vista startup sound — it’s a bug not a feature, says MS exec

Windows is testing a better profanity filter, **** yeah

Microsoft has released new features in its latest Insider builds, including a revamped profanity filter for voice typing in the Windows 11 Beta Insider build (26120.3941). Your Windows 11 Calendar flyout finally knows what time it is but only if you do this

Windows 11 has reintroduced the clock feature in the Calendar flyout, which was removed in a previous update. This feature is currently available only to users on Insider build 22635.5240 (23H2) within the Beta Channel, and is not accessible to those on stable versions of Windows 11. To enable the clock, users must use a tool called ViveTool, execute a command in the Command Prompt, and adjust settings in the Date & time settings page.

Microsoft Re-releases Recall for Windows Insiders Alongside New Copilot+ Features

Microsoft has begun rolling out the Recall feature in Insider build version 26100.3902 after addressing previous security vulnerabilities. Windows 11 tests taskbar icons that scale up and down like on a Mac

Microsoft is enhancing the Start menu and taskbar in Windows 11, with the latest Insider Preview Beta featuring resizable taskbar icons that can shrink or remain small based on user preferences. Beta participants can adjust settings under Taskbar settings > Taskbar behaviors, with options to show smaller taskbar buttons as Always, Never, or When taskbar is full. Windows’ Iconic Blue Screen of Death Is No Longer Blue

Microsoft is changing the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) to a Black Screen of Death (BSOD) in the upcoming Windows 11 24H2 update. This change is currently being tested in the Beta, Dev, and Canary channels. The new message during a crash will state, “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart,” along with an error code for troubleshooting. A temporary Green Screen of Death (GSOD) was introduced in recent Insider builds, but the stable release will feature the Black screen. This change aims to modernize Windows' error messaging. Users in the Insider program can test the new feature with build 26120.3653 by triggering a BSOD.
