Microsoft is experimenting with new features in its Windows Insider builds, including an automatic power-management feature that uses AI to optimize device performance based on user activity. This feature aims to enhance battery life while ensuring full performance is restored when work resumes. Additionally, Microsoft is introducing "Click To Do" functionalities in File Explorer, allowing users to access AI-driven options like Bing Visual Search and background editing directly through right-click commands. The company plans to integrate Microsoft 365 functionalities for summarizing files without opening them. Widgets are being redesigned with a new interface powered by Copilot, which suggests content based on user preferences. Other updates include a new shortcut for the Snipping Tool, options for image quality when sharing documents, improved taskbar search functionality, and enhanced accessibility settings.

Google Maps is implementing a new user interface that features a sheets-first design, allowing app elements to appear as sheets while keeping the map view visible. This redesign started with the Explore tab on Android last summer and is now being applied to the You and Contribute buttons, which display a draggable sheet that can cover most or part of the screen. The update aims to enhance aesthetics and improve navigation while maintaining familiar features in the same locations. User feedback on the changes is encouraged as the update continues to roll out.

The Google Find My app has introduced a new feature that allows users to track the location of individuals through its Find My network. The app has a revamped interface with two main categories: devices and people. Users can view real-time locations of individuals sharing their whereabouts, along with exact addresses and distances. Location sharing can be initiated for various durations and can be easily disabled. This feature is also available in Google Maps, but many find it easier to use in the Find My app. The Find My network, launched last year, enables tracking of devices even when they are not connected to the internet by utilizing a network of over a billion Android devices and Bluetooth technology.
