Helldivers movie lands Minecraft and Street Fighter actor Jason Momoa

Jason Momoa has been cast in the live-action adaptation of the video game Helldivers, developed by Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions, with a release date set for November 10, 2025. He will collaborate with director Justin Lin, known for the Fast and Furious franchise. The film is based on Arrowhead's space-based shooter game, and while details about Momoa's character are not disclosed, the project has received mixed reactions from fans regarding Lin's experience with gaming. Momoa is also set to portray Blanka in the upcoming Street Fighter film, scheduled for release on October 16. Just Cause 3 Unlimited Edition Is the Definitive Way to Play the Game on PC

Modder 'Luke JC' has released the Just Cause 3 Unlimited Edition mod, which includes significant gameplay enhancements such as a 50% increase in grapple range, longer auto-align time for the wingsuit camera, a new spawn menu, reintroduced police mechanics, and Bavarium wingsuit rockets functioning like those in Just Cause 4. Rico's movement has improved, eliminating accidental grapple firing midair, allowing better vehicle balance, and enhancing wingsuit speed and control. All main characters can now appear outside missions, and the game world has expanded with Black Hand vehicles and accessible mission-exclusive areas during free roam. Visual enhancements include smoother location transitions, better-rendered trees, and improved performance by increasing the game’s model budget. The mod adds over 200 tweaks, 60 new vehicles, and 25 new weapons, making it a comprehensive update for Just Cause 3. The mod is available for download.

Just Cause 5 would be a ‘no go’ according to the series’ creator, as ‘extremely few from the original team’ remain at Avalanche Studios

Seven years have passed since Avalanche Studios released a new installment in the Just Cause series, with the last title, Just Cause 4, coming out in 2018. Cristofer Sundberg, the series' creator, indicated that the chances of a new Just Cause game are slim due to the departure of many key creatives. He expressed regret over moving from creative leadership to a corporate role, which he believes contributed to the struggles of Just Cause 4. The development of a new project, Contraband, was halted after significant layoffs at Microsoft, leading to further layoffs at Avalanche Studios. Despite mixed reviews, Just Cause 4 saw improvements through updates. Sundberg's new studio, Liquid Swords, has faced challenges, including staff layoffs, but continues to develop a narrative-driven open-world game.
