Tencent snaps up majority stake in Kuro Games

Tencent has acquired a majority stake in Kuro Games, increasing its ownership from 14.4 percent to 51.4 percent. Kuro Games, founded in 2014, recently launched its title Wuthering Waves on Steam. Despite the majority stake, Kuro Games will maintain its independence with Tencent adopting a hands-off management style. Tencent's initial investment in Kuro Games was in 2023.
