The best Android alarm app isn’t on the Play Store. Here’s how to install it

I spent months testing the top Android keyboards; one easily replaced Gboard for good

They found Microsoft SwiftKey's stable version effective for swiping, predictive text, and multi-language support, but were disappointed with its voice input feature. Transitioning to SwiftKey Beta improved voice typing significantly, though it still lacks support for some niche languages and font scaling options. FUTO Keyboard is noted for its privacy and offline functionality but has limited language support and clipboard management. Samsung Keyboard, now the author's primary choice on their Galaxy Tab, offers deep integration with One UI and improved text prediction, though voice input still needs work. Gboard remains competent, especially in voice typing, but the author feels it is becoming less appealing due to data harvesting concerns and limited customization. Currently, the author plans to continue using Microsoft SwiftKey Beta, which meets most of their typing needs.

First look: Google is working on another new animation for Search Live

Gemini could take a leaf out of ChatGPT’s book for this design update

Google Clock rolls out redesign of Timers with presets on Android

Google Clock has introduced a redesigned Timers tab with a fresh design and new app icon. The update includes preset timers for 1, 5, 10, and 15 minutes, which can be started with a tap. The interface now uses full labels for Hours, Minutes, and Seconds instead of abbreviations. ReactOS 0.4.16 serves ’90s Windows nostalgia with fewer bugs

ReactOS has released version 0.4.16, which includes a unified boot and live CD image, a graphical installer, and significant upgrades to video, audio, networking, and storage stacks. Breezy Weather is an open-source app focused on privacy and customization, offering extensive data metrics and a clear user interface. It is ad-free and does not have a premium tier, but is not available on Google Play and lacks radar functionality. Gradient Weather features a polished design, color-coded alerts, customizable notifications, and radar functionality for tracking storms and other weather metrics. Gradient requires a financial commitment for full access, while Breezy is free. The author prefers Gradient Weather for its radar and advanced notification features.
