Minecraft Live March 2026 – All the News and Reveals

‘Minecraft World’ is a New Theme Park Opening for all in 2027

Logitech G Study shows Esports enters its prime

A comprehensive study from Logitech G surveyed 18,000 individuals across 12 countries, revealing that nearly 8% of respondents globally would choose to pursue a career as a professional gamer if given the opportunity, surpassing traditional professions like politician (6%) and professional racer (5%). Among Generation Z, the desire to become a pro gamer rises to 15%. Two-thirds of Gen Z see esports as a legitimate professional career path, with 54% of all respondents considering esports a legitimate professional avenue. The global esports audience reached 611 million in 2024, projected to grow to 641 million by the end of 2025, with the industry valued at .1 billion and expected to reach .5 billion by 2030. Nearly half of Gen Z support adding esports to the Olympic Games, while 49% of Gen Z favor including esports in the main Olympics, compared to 21% of Baby Boomers. The 2024 League of Legends World Final attracted a peak global audience of 50 million, and over 62,000 spectators attended the 2025 Honor of Kings KPL Grand Finals in Beijing. Concerns about financial risk (42%), high competition levels (34%), and lack of support (31%) deter many from pursuing esports careers.

Minecraft has continued to thrive for 15 years, with Mojang Studios sharing a retrospective of 2025 that includes impressive community statistics. Players logging into the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition dressing room can receive a free Inflatable Chicken Suit Character Creator item. The introduction of the copper golem mob resulted in nearly a billion of these creatures spawning, while over 270 million mounts were tamed, with players collectively traversing 335 billion blocks. However, saddles were crafted only 16 million times. Mojang hosted two Minecraft Live events in 2025, the first in March, which revealed the year's first three updates and announced a forthcoming Minecraft movie set for a sequel in 2027. The Spring to Life update enhanced Overworld diversity and quality-of-life improvements, followed by the Vibrant Visuals update for graphics upgrades and the Chase the Skies update for new ghostly mounts. The September event introduced The Copper Age update, and the year ended with the Mounts of Mayhem update, which added new mobs and a new weapon. Mojang also announced a collaboration with King to develop Minecraft Blast, a new mobile game. Changes for 2026 include the removal of code obfuscation for modders and a shift in version numbering.

Minecraft’s final update of the year is officially here — Mounts of Mayhem brings mounted combat to the Overworld

2025 has seen two Minecraft Live events and four significant content updates, culminating in the final update of the year titled Mounts of Mayhem. This update introduces new features such as a tiered weapon called the spear, which has extended reach and can be crafted from various materials. It includes jab and charge attacks and is designed for mounted combat. A new mount, the nautilus, has been added for underwater exploration, which can be tamed and provides the "Breath of the Nautilus" effect. Three undead mounts have been introduced: the zombie horse, camel husk, and zombie nautilus, each with unique characteristics. The update also features a new hostile mob, the parched, which spawns in deserts and fires arrows of weakness. Additional changes include mounts floating in water, the ability to upgrade diamond horse armor to netherite, and new graphics options for Minecraft: Java Edition. Mojang plans to implement smaller, more frequent updates in the future. Changelogs for both Minecraft: Java Edition 1.21.11 and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition 1.21.130 are available for review.

Elder Scrolls Online has “never done anything this massive before” as new event pits whole servers against each other

The Elder Scrolls Online has launched the Writhing Wall event, which locks an entire update behind a live, competitive event involving all servers. This three-phase event aims to foster camaraderie and competition among players as they complete daily quests to construct the Meridian Lens, a weapon intended to break down the Writhing Wall that blocks access to Update 48. Once a server completes the final phase, the Writhing Fortress dungeon and Update 48 will be unlocked for that server. The event ties into a decade-long narrative involving the antagonist Molag Bal and will feature familiar characters from the game's history. Zenimax has set tailored progress targets for each server to accommodate different player populations, and visual indicators will show server progress. The Writhing Wall event is currently live, with Phase 1 accessible to all players.
