Google is introducing a new “Activity” tab within the Google app, which will replace the existing “Saved” tab and provide easy access to search history from both the Google app and Chrome. This feature is currently being tested and aims to create a centralized hub for managing saved items, allowing users to view, manage, and take actions on their search history. The development of this feature has been in progress for nearly two months and is currently accessible to a select group of users as part of a limited rollout. A user demonstrated the functionality on a Pixel 7 Pro, indicating a user-friendly rollout process, while the Pixel 8 Pro has not yet received the update.

Microsoft is automatically upgrading Windows Server 2022 systems to Windows Server 2025 without prior notification, causing concerns among IT administrators. Users have reported that their managed server environments received the upgrade via WSUS, leading to operational challenges, especially in clustered environments. Some users prefer clean installations over in-place upgrades due to past difficulties. A specific update, KB5044284, may have triggered these unexpected upgrades by being misidentified as an operating system update. Discussions on Reddit indicate that the upgrade process appears inconsistent across different Windows versions, with some systems labeling it as a "feature" update.

The extended Berkeley Packet Filter (eBPF) allows for the execution of custom code in kernel space, enhancing application performance management and security. Windows has introduced support for eBPF, but it has limitations. Microsoft began a project in 2021 to enable eBPF capabilities on Windows, allowing the use of existing Linux eBPF tools and libraries. To install eBPF on Windows, a kernel debugger or test-signing mode is required, which is impractical for production systems. eBPF for Windows is still in development, suitable for experimentation, but not yet ready for real-world deployment. There is no clear timeline for a production-ready version, and development activity has slowed.

Managing the number of applications running on an Android device is important for optimizing performance and safeguarding privacy. Having multiple apps open can reduce system resources and pose security risks. To close an app from the overview, swipe up from the bottom of the display to access the app overview, scroll to locate the app, and swipe up to dismiss it. To close an app from Settings, pull down the Notification Shade twice, tap the gear icon for Settings, go to the "Apps" section, find the app, and tap "Force Stop." In Android 15, apps can be closed from the notification shade by pulling down the Notification Shade twice, tapping the pill indicating running apps, and selecting the "Stop" button next to the desired app. Choosing a method to close apps depends on specific needs, with the notification shade being the simplest for halting background services in Android 15, the app overview being the fastest for quick closures, and the Settings app being a reliable option if the app overview is inaccessible.
