Microsoft's July update, KB5101650, is temporarily withheld for certain Dell PCs using Intel Innovation Platform Framework (IPF) drivers due to compatibility issues. Affected devices are experiencing performance problems such as crashes, reduced efficiency, overheating, and battery drain. Microsoft has acknowledged the incompatibility and is working on a fix, expecting to release the update for affected devices soon. The issues may be linked to the optional June update, KB5095093, which was not widely adopted. Specific Dell models impacted by these issues have not been disclosed.

Microsoft is previewing a recovery tool called Cloud rebuild for Windows 11, allowing users to reinstall the operating system from scratch even if it is unresponsive. This feature provides a clean version of Windows, free from previous drivers and files, and automatically includes the latest updates. Unlike the existing "Reset this PC" feature, Cloud rebuild does not retain personal files, settings, or applications, necessitating independent restoration of these elements. Users can test Cloud rebuild with the latest Windows 11 insider build (Preview Build 26300.8772 or higher) by navigating to Settings > System > Recovery. The timeline for broader availability is uncertain and depends on testing feedback. Other recovery options include recovery drives, resets, Quick Machine Recovery, and a preview feature called Point-in-Time restore.

Google has rolled out updates for three system applications on Samsung Galaxy devices: Android System SafetyCore (version 0.925574157), Android System WebView (version 149.0.7827.91), and Google Play Services (version 26.22.33). These updates are not listed in the "Available updates" section of the Play Store and may require manual updating. Android System SafetyCore helps protect users from unwanted content, Android System WebView is essential for displaying web content in apps, and Google Play Services manages various functions like app updates and user privacy settings. To manually update these apps, users should go to Settings > Apps, select the app, and tap "App details in store" to access the Play Store. If other apps are not updating, users should ensure a stable internet connection, restart the phone, clear storage space, update the Android version, clear app caches, and check the system date.
