The Ohio State University marching band performed a halftime show featuring a tribute to the video game Minecraft, showcasing their ability to blend traditional music with contemporary cultural references. The setlist included compositions such as "Minecraft Main Theme/I Feel Alive," "Steve’s Lava Chicken," "Day to Night," "Piglins Attack," "Steve vs. Malgosha," "Zero to Hero," "Across the Field," and "Le Regiment de Sambre et Meuse | Script Ohio." Fans can watch the performance online, and the band will perform again during the game against Illinois on October 11.

The Sound of West Texas Buffalo Marching Band will perform on September 4, 2025, during West Texas A&M University's home opener against the Colorado School of Mines. The band will feature two shows: one focused on songs incorporating the name "Johnny" and another inspired by the video game "Minecraft." The "Minecraft" show will include music from the 2025 movie and Coldplay’s "Viva La Vida," while the "Here’s Johnny" show will feature classic tunes like "Johnny One-Note" and the theme from "Jonny Quest." The marching band consists of over 140 members and began rehearsals on August 18, with percussion and color guard starting on August 14. The head drum major is Dillon Martin, supported by assistant drum majors and a color guard captain. The band is directed by Dr. B.J. Brooks, with assistance from Dr. Ryan Boehme and David Lough.
