Google implemented Android developer verification rules

Google has introduced a new Android developer verification policy requiring developers to undergo verification in key markets such as Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. This policy will oversee app installations from various platforms, including the Google Play Store and others. The verification requirement is set to expand to additional markets starting in 2027. While unverified applications can still be sideloaded, users will face a 24-hour waiting period before installation.

Your old phone isn’t useless: 4 smart ways to get more life out of it

Phone upgrades often lead to replacing devices every couple of years, but old phones still hold value. Users typically choose to deal with their old phones in the following ways: 26% sell or trade it in, 26% hand it down to family or friends, 42% turn it into a dedicated gadget, and 5% let it sit in a drawer. Old phones can be kept as second devices for personal and work separation, used as an Android Auto display, or serve as a backup phone for emergencies. They can also be repurposed into gadgets like dash cams, security cameras, music players, e-readers, universal remotes, or PC companions. Additionally, they can replace webcams, act as second screens, or provide portable storage. If repurposing isn’t appealing, selling the phone is a practical option, with a strong market for used phones on platforms like SellCell, Swappa, eBay, or Facebook Marketplace. Trading it in may yield better benefits, especially with retailer promotions, and donating it to charity is another option.

Steam Week in Review: Great, haystack slop is a thing now

Clones are common in the gaming industry, with many games mirroring successful titles. The original game "Needle In A Haystack Simulator" is set to launch in Q4 2026 and had about 23,000 players during a recent playtest. The game features sorting and incremental mechanics where players sift through hay to find a needle while uncovering sellable items. Two other haystack-themed games have launched: "Needle In A Haystack - A Time For Goats," which sold 1,000 copies in its first week, and "A Needle In A Haystack: Sorting Game," which received poor reviews. Another title, "Story of The Needle In a Haystack," is scheduled for release on November 28. The creator of "Needle In The Haystack Simulator" humorously referred to it as a "slop game," acknowledging the trend's absurdity.
