Google is expanding its AI-driven scam detection feature for Android devices to include third-party messaging applications. The feature will provide real-time alerts for potential scams in notifications from supported apps, with a new toggle labeled "Message scams" in the settings. It is expected to cover popular apps such as Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Signal, WhatsApp, KakaoTalk, Line, Twitter (X), and Verizon Messages. Users will be able to confirm whether a message is a scam and can disable the feature on a per-app basis. The rollout will begin with Pixel devices, starting with the Pixel 10 and newer models, with plans for broader availability on other Android devices.
