Google's Android 17 QPR1 Beta 3 introduces a new media app switching interface that replaces the traditional carousel layout with a streamlined card layout. This design features compact cards for minimized media applications on either side of the main media player, allowing users to switch between apps by tapping on these cards. Media apps are organized by importance, showing the currently playing media first, followed by content from remote devices and past sessions. While the new layout has received positive feedback for its clarity, some users have raised concerns about the size of the media controls and requested options for customization to enhance accessibility.

In the early access version of Subnautica 2, players can find four Angel Combs. The first Angel Comb is obtained during the tutorial and allows players to breathe pressurized air. The locations of the remaining three Angel Combs are as follows: 1. Digestion Adaptation: 130 meters from the Lifepod, heading 30 degrees. 2. Heat Tolerance: 205 meters from the Lifepod, heading 300 degrees. 3. Axum Vision: 1,769 meters from the Lifepod, due East. To access the latter Angel Combs, players must clear the bloom from each root, following the purple tendrils and using a Resonator to eliminate glowing polyps. The Axum Vision Angel Comb requires an upgrade, necessitating the collection of Conduit Crystals. Establishing a base near the alien observatory is recommended for easier navigation.

Bitdefender's research highlights the use of Microsoft's MSHTA utility in malware attacks, noting its default activation in Windows systems. Cybercriminals exploit MSHTA to execute malicious scripts under the guise of legitimate processes, linking it to various malware families like LummaStealer and PurpleFox. The study reports a rise in MSHTA-related detections, indicating a shift towards "living-off-the-land" tactics that utilize legitimate tools to evade security alerts. Social engineering is identified as a common entry point for attacks, employing deceptive methods such as fake software downloads and phishing links. MSHTA can retrieve and execute additional payloads through multi-stage chains, complicating detection efforts. The attacks target sensitive information, including credentials and financial data, and the continued presence of MSHTA poses risks as it allows threat actors to conceal malicious actions. To mitigate these threats, organizations are advised to restrict or disable legacy scripting tools and exercise caution with untrusted downloads. The report emphasizes the challenge of detecting unusual behaviors associated with legitimate utilities in the context of cyber threats.

Google is implementing a major transformation in its Search platform, driven by artificial intelligence, marking the end of traditional keyword searches. The new AI Mode, powered by Gemini 3.5 Flash, introduces a conversational interface and supports multimodal inputs, including text, images, videos, and files. Continuous background Search agents will provide real-time updates and facilitate bookings for local services, initially available only to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, while booking features will be accessible to all U.S. users this summer. Google is also enhancing the search experience with Antigravity technology and generative UI elements, which will be free for all users this summer. Additionally, Personal Intelligence will be available across 98 languages in nearly 200 countries without a subscription, allowing users to link applications like Gmail and Google Photos for personalized assistance while maintaining control over their data.

Deadzone Rogue 2 is a sequel to the original game launched in August 2025, and a demo for the sequel is set to be released soon, but the full game will not be available for some time. Prophecy Games has clarified that they are following a similar development cycle as the first installment, which took about a year from announcement to launch. The studio decided against creating downloadable content (DLC) for the original game to avoid limiting innovation and to prevent player base fragmentation in co-op scenarios. Instead, they aim to introduce new ideas in the sequel, such as a broader cast of characters and enhanced gameplay mechanics. The demo will be free and is intended to allow for experimentation and feedback. The sequel is expected to be priced similarly to the original, with optional cosmetic DLC available.

Oppo's Multi-X team has introduced X-OmniClaw, an open-source AI agent for Android that operates on the device without cloud processing. It uses the camera, screen, and voice functionalities to perform tasks across applications. Unlike cloud-based platforms, X-OmniClaw processes information locally, with the cloud serving as a supplementary resource. The architecture integrates three perception channels into a unified pipeline, allowing it to interpret scenes and user requests effectively. It transforms local data into semantic entries for long-term memory, processes gallery photos into descriptions, and filters out sensitive information. X-OmniClaw captures user behavior into reusable skills, enabling direct navigation to app pages through deeplinks. Demonstrations show its ability to retrieve product prices, assist with homework, and create highlight albums from photos. The project is built on the open-source HermesApp codebase and is accessible on GitHub. It draws inspiration from existing models, including Google's local model and ByteDance's UI-TARS, while enhancing functionality through on-device execution and structural XML data integration.
