Minecraft and Crocs Join Up Ahead Of “A Minecraft Movie”

Minecraft is collaborating with Crocs to release a new collection of footwear, following a successful four-pair collection in 2023. The latest Classic Clog design features an imaginative representation of the Dark Forest biome from the game, including dark oak trees and oversized mushrooms. The collection also includes customizable Jibbitz charms depicting iconic symbols from Minecraft, such as a steel pickaxe, a Creeper, a crafting table, and animals like a dog and a pig. The Minecraft x Crocs collection is set to be released on March 4th, with options for both adults and kids.

‘Avowed’ Review (PC): An Excellent ‘Elder Scrolls’ Intermission

Avowed is a role-playing game set in the Pillars of Eternity universe, allowing players to engage without prior lore knowledge. Players assume the role of a "Godlike" character on a quest in the "Living Lands" to confront the Dreamscourge, a blight affecting the landscape and its creatures. The game features a small party of companions with unique abilities, including a fish man, a rabbit girl, and a human healer. Avowed consists of interconnected zones with distinct environments, encouraging exploration and discovery. The main story and side quests take approximately 30 hours to complete, offering a fulfilling experience without the lengthy commitment typical of other RPGs. Combat is engaging, with various build options available, and meaningful choices impact the narrative, enhancing player agency. The game simplifies some RPG mechanics, which can be both a strength and a weakness. The writing quality compensates for less complex character interactions. The game received a score of 9/10.

Overthrown is a unique sandbox game “relative to most of the genre,” with an ever-changing world that separates itself from genre giants like Minecraft

Overthrown has officially launched as a city-builder sandbox hybrid, allowing players to manipulate their environment by tossing objects. Developer Brimstone has removed traditional mechanics like fall damage and inventory management to enhance gameplay. NPC citizens automate resource gathering, enabling players to focus on exploration and combat. The game features flexible gameplay, allowing players to switch between gathering and combat. Overthrown includes a dynamic procedural world that evolves with changing seasons, introducing new plants, creatures, and outlaw camps. Environmental changes, such as pollution, will affect the game world, adding realism. The game is currently in early access on Steam, with plans for future releases on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Disco Elysium vets found two more studios

Two new gaming studios have been founded by veterans of ZA/UM, the developer of Disco Elysium. Summer Eternal, established by Argo Tuulik and a team including voice actor Lenval Brown and principal writer Dora Klindžić, will be based in Zagreb, Croatia, starting in April. The studio aims to create a worker-owned cooperative to prioritize the voices of creatives. The second studio, Dark Math Games, was formed by four former ZA/UM staff members, including Timo Albert, and is developing a project titled XXX Nightshift, described as a 'true detective RPG.'

Death of a Partisan is one survival game where I didn’t starve to death, thank goodness
