EDB has introduced new features for its Postgres AI platform, including an agentic database and converged analytics capabilities, allowing enterprises to run AI agents alongside transactional workloads on a unified PostgreSQL foundation. The platform includes governance tools that position control mechanisms at the data layer and integrates AI processing with operational data, enabling businesses to connect live records with AI systems without transferring sensitive information. The agentic database can monitor over 200 metrics, identify issues, suggest changes, and apply fixes automatically based on user-defined policies. It consolidates various data types through a single SQL interface, significantly accelerating database tuning processes and enhancing application performance. EDB has also expanded its analytics capabilities with a zero-ETL architecture for real-time analysis and large-scale warehousing. EDB PG AI for ClickHouse targets real-time analysis, while EDB PG AI for WarehousePG focuses on historical analysis at petabyte scale. The platform claims up to 30 times faster query performance compared to legacy systems and improved scaling efficiency. EDB's platform integrates vector search and retrieval for AI agents, demonstrating lower query latency and higher retrieval accuracy than competitors. NTT East is using EDB PG AI for AI-driven network operations, while the governance feature manages agent access at the data querying point using native Postgres roles and row-level security. The platform can be deployed on-premises, in hybrid environments, or across cloud infrastructures, with partnerships including Dell, IBM, Nvidia, Red Hat, and Supermicro.

Acer has introduced the Nitro Blaze Link, a handheld gaming device designed to stream games from a nearby computer. It features ergonomic grips, standard controls, and a seven-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels. The device weighs 464 grams, measures approximately 287 millimeters in width, and has a maximum thickness of 33.5 millimeters. It is powered by an 18-watt-hour battery and includes a USB-C port for charging (up to 15 watts) but does not support data transfer. The Nitro Blaze Link runs on Debian Linux, uses Moonlight for video streaming, and requires Sunshine installed on the host computer. It has 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 8GB of integrated flash storage, supports WiFi 6, and is designed to work with Acer's Predator Helios and Nitro laptops. The device cannot run games locally, has limited storage and RAM, and relies on a stable wireless connection for performance. It is expected to be available in the U.S. market in the fourth quarter of 2026, with no pricing information disclosed.

Windows XP was launched in 2001 without an active firewall or integrated antivirus, exposing users to malware. The Internet Connection Firewall was included but not enabled by default, and it wasn't activated until Service Pack 2 was released nearly three years later. Microsoft introduced its antivirus solution, Microsoft Security Essentials, in 2009. Internet Explorer 6, included with Windows XP, had significant security vulnerabilities, allowing malware to easily infiltrate systems. The transition from Windows 95/98 to NT caused driver compatibility issues, leading to troubleshooting challenges for users. Network sharing features were unreliable, with many users experiencing difficulties connecting multiple XP PCs and sharing printers. Windows XP reached its refined state with Service Pack 3 in 2008 and ended mainstream support in 2014. Despite this, it continues to be used in some modern applications, such as self-checkout registers.

Windows File Explorer has limitations such as slow search capabilities and challenges with batch renaming files. Specialized add-ons can enhance its functionality. Notable add-ons include: - Peek: Allows users to preview file contents quickly by selecting a file and pressing CTRL + Spacebar. - PowerRename: Enhances batch renaming with a dialog box for finding and replacing text across multiple files, displaying a preview of new names before changes. - TeraCopy: Speeds up file transfers, allows pausing and resuming, skips corrupted files, and verifies that copied files match originals. - Listary: Improves file searching within File Explorer, providing instant results and a command bar for running applications and executing commands. - DropIt: Automates file organization through drag-and-drop by setting up rules for sorting files into designated folders and performing actions like zipping or renaming. These add-ons can improve productivity without needing to abandon File Explorer.
