There’s a new way to play PlayStation and PC games early

Sony has launched the PlayStation Beta Program, allowing PlayStation and PC gamers to express interest in participating in beta tests for new or unreleased titles and features. Registration is open and free for users with a valid PlayStation Network Account in the 73 countries where the network operates. Participation is by invitation only, and participants must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to maintain confidentiality. Earlier this year, there was high demand for access codes to the Elden Ring: Nightreign network test, with some codes selling for hundreds of pounds. Additionally, Sony offered five extra days of PSN membership to users affected by a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network.

Don’t worry about missing Elden Ring Nightreign’s network test on PC—nobody could play it on console either

The Elden Ring Nightreign network test features a series of three-hour sessions, concluding on February 17. The first session faced significant connectivity issues, with many players unable to access the game. FromSoftware acknowledged server malfunctions and restarted the servers, but many players still experienced difficulties. Some players reported successful matchmaking, while others struggled. FromSoftware issued an apology for the server issues and is considering an additional test session. The next session is scheduled for 3 AM UK time, with plans to improve server stability.

Elden Ring Nightreign network test starts this weekend; you can save 12% on PC if you pre-order the full game today

Elden Ring Nightreign will be released on May 30, 2025, for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. A network test for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users will take place from February 14 to February 17, 2025, in three-hour sessions. PC gamers can pre-order the standard edition on Steam for £30.79. Console players have various editions and bonuses available, including a gift card at Best Buy. The game features a new Nightfarer system with preset heroes instead of custom character creation. It will include iconic bosses from previous FromSoftware titles, such as Dark Souls’ Centipede Demon and the Nameless King.
