Microsoft is developing a feature for Windows 11 that allows users to conduct network speed tests directly from the Taskbar's system tray. This feature can be accessed by right-clicking the network icon or through a button in the Wi-Fi quick settings panel, launching Bing's integrated network speed test tool. It aims to simplify network diagnostics and verify internet speeds without relying on third-party applications. Additionally, Microsoft is working on other features for Windows 11, including a revamped Start menu, improved voice input, enhancements to mobile device settings, and a new handheld gaming mode. These features are currently in testing and are not linked to the upcoming Windows 11 version 25H2, which will maintain the same feature set as version 24H2.

Microsoft removes FAT32 partition size limit in Windows 11

Microsoft has lifted the 32GB size limit for FAT32 partitions in Windows 11, allowing a maximum capacity of 2TB. This change was announced as part of the Canary build, specifically Build 27686. Users can now create larger FAT32 partitions from the command line without third-party applications, although the GUI-based disk formatting tool will still enforce the 32GB limit. Additionally, Microsoft has released the Windows Sandbox Client Preview with new features such as folder sharing, command-line support, clipboard redirection, and audio/video input control. Performance optimizations include improved battery life and background network tests for devices in the Insider program, limited to 10MB of data per day on non-metered connections.
