Rockstar Games has a history of delaying PC releases for major titles. GTA 5 was released on PC nearly two years after its initial launch on consoles, Red Dead Redemption 2 had a one-year delay, and the original Red Dead Redemption took 14 years to reach PC. The next-gen update for GTA 5 is scheduled for release on PC on March 4, 2023, and will be a complimentary update. It will include a "one-time Character Migration flow" for players to transfer their Story Mode and Online progress from previous versions.
