Next-Gen Upgrades for 2 Acclaimed FPS Games for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Have Been Announced for Free

4A Games is releasing a complimentary next-gen update for Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux, available on PC from October 22 and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S from October 29. Existing owners of the Redux versions can access these upgrades for free. The update includes enhancements such as refined animations, higher-resolution textures, detailed environments, and improved lighting and shadow systems. Audio refinements and quality-of-life improvements will also be included. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, players can choose between native 4K at 60 FPS or upscaled 4K at 120 FPS. The update will utilize hardware-specific features like adaptive triggers on PlayStation 5 and impulse triggers on Xbox. PC gamers will benefit from uncapped framerates in 4K and DLSS compatibility. The Metro series has sold over 50 million copies globally.

One of the most underrated Ghost Recon games is getting a free next-gen update

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is receiving a free update for next-generation consoles, now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update enhances the game with 4K resolution at 60 frames per second and reduced loading times. PlayStation 5 users will benefit from DualSense controller features, while Xbox users will have Dolby Atmos support. After 2 Years, the PC Version of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Finally Gets the Next-Gen Update

GTA Online’s Next-Gen PC Update Is Free And Makes It The Definitive Version Of The Game

Rockstar will launch the next-gen update of Grand Theft Auto Online for PC on March 5, 2025, at no cost to players. The update requires players to have SSD storage with 105 GB of available space and compatibility with Direct-Storage technology. Support for the older version of Grand Theft Auto Online will continue, and players can choose between the old and new versions. The update includes quality-of-life improvements, new content, support for AMD FSR1, FSR3, Nvidia DLSS 3, ray-traced shadows and reflections, ambient occlusion, global illumination, new vehicles, a revamped landing page, a Career Progress feature, and enhanced audio support through Dolby Atmos. GTA 5’s next-gen update finally has a March PC release date a mere 3 years after it prettied-up the console versions

Rockstar Games has a history of delaying PC releases for major titles. GTA 5 was released on PC nearly two years after its initial launch on consoles, Red Dead Redemption 2 had a one-year delay, and the original Red Dead Redemption took 14 years to reach PC. The next-gen update for GTA 5 is scheduled for release on PC on March 4, 2023, and will be a complimentary update. It will include a "one-time Character Migration flow" for players to transfer their Story Mode and Online progress from previous versions. The update promises enhanced graphics and improved loading times.
