Developer Starry Studio has introduced significant updates to the survival game Once Human, including a new class system, a PvP-centric Raid Zone, and a crossover with Palworld. A new decorative item in the game’s loot crates, specifically an exercise bike, has sparked controversy due to its similarities to the Base Teleport Module from No Man's Sky. Hello Games' Sean Murray responded humorously to the criticism, while Starry Studio confirmed it would remove the contentious item. The Thunder Overload cosmetic lineup features outfits and a weapon skin that transforms the SKS into a mechanical dragon. Earlier this year, Once Human was also accused of borrowing design elements from Rainbow Six Siege. Starry Studio has pledged to replace the disputed asset and review their art and design policies, emphasizing the importance of originality and community feedback.

Since its launch in 2023, Payday 3 has faced challenges, with daily player counts on Steam for Payday 2 being approximately 20 times higher than for Payday 3. Starbreeze has canceled a Dungeons & Dragons project to focus on enhancing Payday 3 and has transitioned support for Payday 2 to another studio. The upcoming free update, Skills 2.0, will overhaul the skill system by eliminating the previous buffs (Rush, Edge, and Grit) and introducing a more intuitive structure with six main archetypes: Soldier, Ninja, Mechanic, Hacker, Conman, and Professional, each with three subdivisions. Players will have access to 51 skill points upon reaching Infamy level 150 and an online tool will help plan skill progression. Starbreeze has adjusted weapon damage to maintain balance and introduced various enhancements, including the ability to throw bags at enemies to stagger them and resolving a bug with throwing knives.

No Man's Sky has continued to engage its community in 2025 with updates including Worlds: Part 2, which reworked the universe simulation, and the Relics update, introducing space palaeontology. Players can manage stellar towns in the Beacon update and design multi-crew spacecraft in Voyagers, attracting the highest number of concurrent players since the game's launch. Hello Games is reintroducing all four expeditions linked to each update, allowing players to revisit past adventures. The Titan expedition focuses on new planet types and offers a "living ship" as a reward. Following Titan, the Relics expedition will begin on December 2, followed by the Corvette expedition starting December 17, where players will build a Corvette-class starship. The year will end with a redux of the Breach expedition. Co-founder Sean Murray hinted at more content planned for 2026, including a new project called Light No Fire, which will feature an Earth-sized planet with real oceans and require large boats and crews for exploration.
